Does polyaluminium chloride (PAC) really come in six colors? What are the differences?

The polyaluminum chloride sold on the market is more miscellaneous, because the production process and raw materials of each manufacturer are different, and the colors produced are also somewhat different, generally white, light yellow, golden yellow, brown, brown, coffee color these six colors of polyaluminum chloride, the following to explain the difference between the six different colors and different uses.

The six types of PAC are different

1. White polyaluminum chloride

The latest research and development of a new type of water purification material, professionally used in food, drinking water, urban water supply, precision manufacturing water purification, paper industry, medicine, sugar refining, cosmetic additives, daily chemical industry and other aspects of a very wide range of applications, the purity is very high, the price is also the highest.2. Light yellow polyaluminum chloride

Second only to the white polyaluminum chloride series of products, mainly used for drinking water treatment, which is more strict on the content of heavy metals, especially the drinking water grade polyaluminum chloride products we produce, with it after the water clarification without precipitation, AL2O3 content in about 30 (± 0.5), fine powder, uniform particles, good flocculation effect, efficient and stable purification, less dosage, low cost, is a long-term cooperation of major water plants special water treatment flocculant.

3. Golden yellow polyaluminum chloride

It is the most widely used polyaluminum chloride on the market, a high-efficiency flocculant for sewage treatment, and has a good flocculation effect, so it is the best choice for industrial water supply, industrial wastewater, industrial water circulation and urban sewage treatment.

4. Brown, brown and coffee polyaluminum chloride

It is a water treatment product produced for the special requirements of individual customers for water treatment, and the iron content is higher than that of other polyaluminum chloride product series, so the color is darker than golden yellow. It is effective for low-temperature, low-turbidity, and high-algae sewage, and is mainly used for drinking water, urban water supply, industrial water purification, etc.

Operational Storage Considerations

1. In terms of operation, the water purification process of polyaluminum chloride is generally divided into three stages. The three stages are the coagulation stage, the flocculation stage and the sedimentation stage. In the coagulation stage, when the liquid is injected into the coagulation vessel and the raw water is rapidly coagulated, fine alum flowers will be formed in a very short time, and the water becomes more turbid, which requires the water flow to produce intense turbulence. Then the polyaluminum chloride enters the flocculation stage, which is the process of growing and coarsing the alum flowers, which requires appropriate turbulence and sufficient residence time (10~15min), and a large number of alum flowers can be observed to gather and sink slowly to form a clear surface layer.

When the flocculant is in the sedimentation stage, it is the floc sedimentation process carried out in the sedimentation tank, the water flow is required to be slow, in order to improve the efficiency, the inclined tube or plate settler is generally used, a large number of coarse alum flowers are blocked by the inclined tube (plate) wall and deposited at the bottom of the pool, the upper water is clear water, and the remaining alum flowers with small particle size and small density are slowly descending, while continuing to collide with each other and become larger, and the residual turbidity is basically unchanged in the later stage.

2. Polyaluminum chloride must be stored in a dry, moisture-proof and heat-proof place (do not damage the packaging at < 80 °C, and the product can be stored for a long time).

3. Polyaluminum chloride products must be dissolved before they can be used, and corrosion-resistant materials should be used for dissolving equipment and dosing facilities.

4. The effective storage period of liquid products of polyaluminum chloride is half a year, and the effective storage period of solid products is two years, and solid products can still be used after being wet.
